about

The dark, atmospheric and energetic mix of choirs, strings, various Fx sounds, heavy drums and tribal sections makes this the seed for the raison d’être sound trademark that begun with the album 'Prospectus I' from 1993. Released in 1992 'Aprés nous le Dèluge' became the first official output from raison d'être when it went available on the Cold Meat Industry subsidiary label Sound source.

For the first time 'Aprés nous le Dèluge' is now available as a complete album on CD, with bonus tracks. The original 2-channel analogue only recording was rejected because of the many flaws in the recording quality and mixing balance. To be able to present the best possible sound quality the only way was to go through the process of restoring, re-recording and mixing the material. The reduxing process was extensive and the intention was to recreate the energy and feeling of the original version but still making it well balanced and clear in the mix. Also included are four remixes from an early attempt to recreate the whole album. Only seven of the eleven original tracks album was possible to restore and remix at that time (1995), and with far from satisfactory result. The four selected mixes from 1995 are the ones that differs most compared to the original versions, that's why they are included. In addition there is an on CD previously unreleased track from the same period of time.
